Updating the number of sites I have is becoming a real issue for me, this has really come to light with the recent problems I had with the hosts. I still use the same method of storing and updating data as I did when I first started the sites some 10 years ago which is by formatting the individual pages containing the data and then calling them as necessary. It appears to me that the best method now, considering the high quantity of links available, is to store them in a central database and draw them from each individual site requiring them.
The database would need only a few tables ie. advertiser name, url, description, graphic link, categories and perhaps a click count. The necessary data for each page could be called from the various categories. The output could then be formatted into the necessary tables and the number of pages formed depending on the number of links similar to price tapestry. Adding and deleting from the tables eg. auto updating all the sites could then be undertaken from one place.
What's your views on that David and could you point me in the right direction if that's possible? I'm sure there are many others that would benefit from this as well.
Kind regards
Bernard

Hello Bernard, Have you come
Hello Bernard,
Have you come across a product called Openads? (formerly phpAdsNew)
http://www.openads.org/
It's a fantastic, open source ad serving package, which you can use to centralise all of your affiliate campaigns in one place; and then have it source the appropriate content for each of your sites...
I have actually, in fact I
I have actually, in fact I do have it installed but I do find it somewhat difficult to navigate for some reason. I'll look into that further and see what else it can do.
Cheers
